FAQ

Everything you might want to know about our granola, how to enjoy it, and how we get it to your door — fresh.

Healthy Eating & Nutrition

Is granola actually healthy?

Yes — when it's made with real ingredients, which is the entire point of The Bowl. Granola is built on whole rolled oats, a great source of fibre, plus nuts and seeds that bring protein and healthy fats. The problem with most boxed granolas is that they're loaded with refined sugar, palm oil and preservatives, which undoes all the goodness. Ours is toasted in small batches with whole oats, almonds, walnuts, flax and pumpkin seeds, and naturally sweetened — with no preservatives and nothing artificial. Like any wholesome food, it's at its best in a sensible portion (around 30–40g) as part of a balanced diet.

How is The Bowl different from the cereal I buy at the supermarket?

Most boxed cereals are mass-produced months in advance, stabilised with preservatives, and built around refined sugar and corn. The Bowl is the opposite: we toast it fresh in small batches right here in Karachi, use whole-food ingredients you can actually recognise, and add nothing artificial. You're getting real oats, real nuts and real seeds — made to be eaten within weeks, not to sit on a shelf for a year.

What exactly is in it?

Whole grain rolled oats, honey, almonds, walnuts, chocolate chips, butter, brown sugar, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, desiccated coconut, a touch of cinnamon, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. That's it — nothing you wouldn't find in a home kitchen. Each 30g serving gives you roughly 3.5g of protein and 2.8g of fibre to start your day right.

Is it high in sugar?

We keep it honest. The Bowl is lightly sweetened with honey and a small amount of brown sugar, with chocolate chips for that treat factor — far less than most commercial granolas and cereals, which can be 30–40% sugar. It tastes indulgent because of the real chocolate and honey, not because it's drowned in refined sugar. A measured 30g serving keeps things comfortably in balance.

Can it fit into a weight-management or fitness routine?

Absolutely, with a little portion awareness. Granola is nutrient-dense — the nuts and seeds make it satisfying and rich in protein and good fats, which help you stay full for longer. Because those same ingredients make it energy-rich, the trick is to enjoy a measured portion (around 30–40g) rather than a giant bowl. Layered over yoghurt or with milk, it makes a breakfast that carries you through the morning instead of the sugar-crash you get from sweet cereals.

Does it contain preservatives or artificial flavours?

None at all — no preservatives, no artificial colours, no artificial flavours, and no palm oil. That's exactly why we make it in small, fresh batches, and why it's best enjoyed within a few weeks.

Ingredients & Dietary Needs

Is it halal?

Yes — The Bowl is made entirely with halal ingredients.

Is it suitable for vegetarians? Is it vegan?

It's vegetarian-friendly. It is not vegan, as it contains honey and butter.

Does it contain nuts or gluten?

Please read this if you have allergies. The Bowl contains tree nuts (almonds and walnuts), dairy (butter), and oats (which contain gluten). It's prepared in a kitchen that also handles nuts and dairy. If you have a serious allergy, please take care before ordering.

Freshness & Storage

How long does it stay fresh?

Enjoy it within about 4 weeks of opening for the best taste and crunch (the exact best-before date is on every pack). Preservative-free, homemade food is meant to be eaten fresh — that shorter shelf life is a feature, not a flaw. It's the sign that there's nothing artificial keeping it crunchy for a year.

How should I store it, especially in our humidity?

This really matters in Karachi's climate. Because there are no preservatives, keep the pouch tightly sealed in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Humidity is granola's enemy — it softens the crunch. Press the air out and re-seal after every use, or transfer it to an airtight jar. Stored well, it stays crisp and delicious right to the last spoonful.

Is it really made fresh?

Yes. We toast in small batches rather than mass-producing, so what arrives at your door was very likely made within days. That's how we keep it crunchy and the flavours bright.

Eating & Serving

How do I eat it? Any serving ideas?

However you love it! The classic way is with cold milk or layered over yoghurt with fresh fruit. It's also wonderful dry, straight from the pouch, as a desk or travel snack — or sprinkled over a smoothie bowl, stirred into dahi, or scattered over ice cream for a guilty-pleasure treat. Even a handful with a glass of lassi works beautifully.
